Question Question about Magnaflow muffler~~~

Hi everyone

I installed the x pipe 3 month ago. The exhaust sounds cool, but still need more powerful sound...I saw some member get magnaflow mufflers.

which magnaflow Muffler should I use to fit a 2011 c300.

can anyone tell me the size of inlet diameter and outlet diameter?

shape? etc and sound level, moderate or wild?

thanks in advance.

best regards

james

X-pipe plus magnaflow mufflers was my first exhaust setup, but let me save you some trouble and say, "Just remove your 2nd cats."

Here's my current setup:

With the magnaflow muffler setup, I would best describe it as a deep, smooth roar. With no 2nd cats, x-pipe, and stock mufflers, there's MUCH more "character" to the sound.

Just a little correction. What Richard is calling second cats are in fact just short resonators. They're small hollow resonators right around the transmission. Between the CATs and the X-pipe.

Why i'm telling you this, is because if you go to a muffler shop and ask them to remove your "secondary cats" 90% of them will turn you down since, that's against the emission regulations. If you ask them to remove the resonators, almost all will have no issue with that.

I know they are resonators actually, but its is too loud, and may generate drone..especially on high way~

That's one characteristic of my current setup that I like. It's loud during a cold start, but after the car warms up, it is no louder than my magnaflow setup.

Here's a video of my magnaflow setup:

Note: If I remember correctly, this is a warm start. Cold starts were louder.

Believe it or not, less drone than my magnaflow mufflers. Drone is a really subjective term. One sound may sound like drone to one but not the other.

@Richard2011

I just got my ECU tuned and the next step for me is the exhaust. X-pipe is a no brainer, but trying to find the right muffler. I was looking into the Magnaflow glasspack OR the Cherry Bomb Extreme...

Your thoughts?

Sounds loud. That's really all I can say. I don't have experience with either.

Can you take a video driving down the street, windows up, stereo off, 60mph cruise? Curious what the drone is like while moving.

Hey which magnaflow mufflers did you use for this current setup? Whats the parts number? I just had a magnaflow X-pipe #10790 installed today in place of the resonator, but it didn't give me that "rumble" when idle. In your youtube clip I heard that rumble I want to achieve, so im wondering what mufflers did you use? And anything else you did besides the mufflers and x pipe? Thanks
