I am looking into getting an aftermarket blindspot system installed. does anybody have experience with this?

is it that much cheaper then the blind spot system from mercedes?

 

And how easy is it to install, mainly to route wires from outside to inside?

 

TBH i have not priced out the cost to install the MB system as i can only imagine how much it will be and also the challenge of having to reprogram stuff. i would prefer it but at what cost.

There arent many option but i will be going with the BLIS system, although the sensors are ugly the system uses radar which apparently has a longer range as opposed to the other GOSHER which has a shorter range and the car needs to be in the blindspot before it sense. the BLIS picks the car up as it approaches from behind.

The only thing that bothers me about the BLIS is the led and the power on/off switch, just ugly. i just bought some euro mirrors with the triangle LED's in them and am hoping i can tie those into the system so I wont need the switch/LD that cames with the system.

it wont arrive for a few weeks but will post back how it goes.
