COMMAND Update

It would be easy to give the dealer a call and ask. Just make sure to tell them you need a command update and not a map update. Most of the folks here get the update before their warranty expires. Do you not have the audio boast feature when using a ipod or using the audio jack connector? Also do you not see the current map version of the navigation under the NAV menu which is on the bottom list?

You can only do the Command update at the dealer. Map update is a DIY. I am not sure about the facelift models regarding the command software difference or if there is a update but for pre-facelift models if you don't have a audio boast feature while using the 3.5mm aux. jack and you don't see the map version of your navigation under the NAV menu, you have a old command software and it is advised to get it updated.
If you don't have the audio boast feature the easiest way to get the dealer to update it is tell them the volume of your MP3 player is low and you have to crank it up. it is also good to have this done during a scheduled maintenance service so that you really have a reason to get the car in to their shop. Some folks in the down South says their dealers do the update for free but it is not the case here in Canada as you need to have a good reason for them to update it.
