6 MT Owners HELP!

Hey new to the forum I was looking for help on how to disengage the assist for the 2010 C300 transmission. Because i refuse to go into 6th gear at only 29 MPH. Any suggestions without resetting my ECU. The dealers are no help because they only seen three manual transmissions in the past 15 year and i was one of them. Thanks in advance

After driving a manual C300 for over 5 years, I have no idea to what "assist" you are referring. My car happily allows me to depress the clutch and shift to whatever gear I choose at any speed (although I don't abuse that privilege!). Please explain what is being "assisted"?

ok basically I'm trying to say is that i want to take off the arrows telling me to up shift into gear because the rpms and the speed that its asking for aren't high enough and docent seen reasonable

Now I get it....that is not an assist of any type. That is the upshift indicator which, by its presence, provides Mercedes-Benz with credit toward their US Federal CAFE requirements. It was not present on my 2009 model.

It is intended to indicate optimal shift points for maximizing fuel economy. For that purpose alone, the shift points are reasonable, and were carefully selected by MB Powertrain Engineering. For more enjoyable, performance-oriented driving, they are too low. If it annoys you and you can't ignore it, an independent shop may be able to turn the feature off. A dealer will likely be unwilling, as it would take the car out of compliance with a federal regulatory standard, and as an agent for MBUSA, they may not do that.
