Smile Aftermarket Head Unit Question: Seicane

Hi all,

I am interested in getting this aftermarket head unit by Seicane. Does anyone have any experience with this company, or specifically with this Android-based head unit?

It looks excellent, if all of the features are fully-functional as they say they are.

Any sort of feedback would be appreciated.

Honestly with my personal opinion I would say stay away from it.

Why?

Its $660US...For that price you can get a much better system which will come with warranty and will be brand name.
It's touch screen with a resistive screen meaning it will not work as nice as your phone like an iphone or a galaxy in regard to touching it.
It only has a single core CPU which is going to be slow with amount of usage android really needs and not to mention 512mb of ram.

All in all it's not worth $600+.
You know why it's over priced? Because even for a W204 LCI you can get the exam same headunit with extras for the same price if not cheaper.

There's nothing wrong with China, especially seeing as everything we use for the most part is manufactured over there. That's not the real concern.

Appreciate the advice. What would you suggest, then? I am open to options.

Honestly I am not an expert in W204 pre LCI since I never had one but after doing some research this links might help you with more info.

All of the threads on here have been pretty confusing and/or misleading. Having a solid answer by a member would be great. I appreciate you directing me to that link, though.

Can anyone confirm if from that thread, all you need to purchase what snowmuch suggested?
