Gutsy Little 4 Cyl-yea C250
I got to drive the toll road around Austin near the Formula One racetrack yesterday. Speed limit is 80 MPH. Near the end I decided to stomp it. I'm not sure how many gears it down shifted to, but I was surprised how strong the acceleration was from 80. It seemed only a few seconds before I saw 98, solid ,steady ride and still accelerating strong. My exit was approaching so I had to back off. What a delightful car. Still avg 33 mpg from San Antonio to Ft Worth driving 70-75 most of the time.

I agree the 1.8T in the C250 def packs a wallop all things being considered. I'm actually beginning to think these M271's are making a little more than the advertised SAE Net Horsepower 201hp @ 5500rpm and SAE Net Torque 229lbft @ 2000 rpm. wouldn't be the first time Mercedes Benz under rates they're HP/TQ figures.

I use to think night driving was the best time to stretch the legs out since the chances of getting tagged by radar/laser is minimized...until I ran over a random truck tire lying on the road.
Now I think slightly differently.
