vacuum pump leak.

Went to the stealership and was told during my service that the vacuum pump had a leak and it was dripping. Wanted to know if this was a common problem on the car and if anyone has a DIY on how to fix the problem myself instead of paying the crazy amount they want to charge.

I have the same issue with my c300 mbpharoh. Did you happen to get any help with fixing your/replacing your vacuum pump? Any help would be appreciated.

I had known about my vacuum leak for over a year, as well as another oil leak on top the other head that was cam related. This was diagnosed thru an independent Mercedes mechanic and the oil was dripping on the exhaust and smelling up the garage. It never (well eventually it would) leaked oil on the floor because of the belly pan. It leaked probably a quart in less than 5,000 miles. The dealer also confirmed the leaks and I had the dealer fix them because the car was in for electrical issues that warranted a rebuilt alternator. And a whining auxiliary air pump (that was whining for over 6 months), brake fluid flush, and front brakes. They have a 'free loaner car' available which is why I went with the dealer. Yes, I know the 'free loaner car' isn't really free. Lesson learned here was don't put off the so called little things as they can add up quickly.
