Thumbs up A nice writeup about the new MB 9 speed transmission
I believe some years later the C class will also has the 9spd. Found a nice article here which provides some insights about the new 9G-Tronic transmission. I did not realized that actually our 7G-Tronic already has the 9 speed ability, just MB chose not to implement it then.

Did anyone has been in Europe and tried out the 9spd E class?

Is this the same gearbox the Jeep Grand Cherokee started using, and they had some issues with?

Its the 7g+ with a magnesium case, and a new dampener in the TC. Plus reprogramming. ZF makes the jeep transmission while wikipedia say MB makes the 7g+ at their own factory. Couldn't tell you if they are sharing designs.
