2008 C300 low engine roar
Hi -
I love this car and am thinking about buying it. I drove it 150 miles today. Consistently throughout there is a low engine roar that is tied to speed. The sound is lower and a tad bit louder that faster you go, and the other way around. It's completely stable, not like it's there sometimes not others. It's sort of like muffler noise but very muted.
I've read discussions on this forum about tires, about a MB mat for the trunk, about higher-end MB being completely quiet and I read an article that says regarding acceleration... "and the sound is just as exciting."
The noise is annoying to me, but something tells me it's a normal sound for this car.
