Display going black
All the sudden the display went black today. Radio and CD still functioning just cant see anything from it.
Seems like a back light failure.
Is this a common thing? Maybe a fuse i can check?

Apparently a common issue.
Seems like it is happening when the door is open for too long or smth like that and the Display unit thinks otherwise. A simple fuse reset will fix this or you can let your car off for a couple of hours and the fuse reset happens itself which is what fixed it for me.
According to the online boards if you need to reset the fuses simply remove them and put it back in
The fuses you need are in the engine compartment (driver side)
This is the info for pre-facelift i am only assuming it is the same for the facelift model

Looking at this ebay listing of an OEM screen, there's 2 connectors for the bulb (blue and pink wire). Meaning there's going to be 2 bulbs in it. It's less likely that both bulbs will go out. Generally with this set up, there's an inverter board that powers these bulbs. That might be the issue or a connection came loose on the inverter board that gives the inverter power.

We have screen with just 1 pair and we have some that have 2 pairs for our outdoor ATM's. But either screens require an inverter board with either 1 or 2 output connectors for the bulbs. And on the other end of that board is the power input.
I doubt it would be a fuse. Generally the fuse will be for the entire command/radio.

Hey guys. Any news on this? I had the black display problem and changed it with a new one I got from eBay, but this display has no light either. I'm suspecting it has something to do with the inverters. Did you find any solution other than changing the whole monitor, which is 1500 $ from Mercedes?

Black screen no more
I seem to have solved the problem on my 2013 C260 by changing the 20A fuse for the radio in the engine compartment. First i just took out the old fuse and cleaned it, but with same faulty function. After that i put in a new fuse and everything is working fine until now. No flickering or black screen anymore. I guess it was a bad connection and with a new fuse some new "connection points" was created.
