I replaced my headlight at the dealer for $2,000. The mechanic told me that when the bumper snags a curb or driveway it causes small cracks at the bottom of the headlight causing water to get it. The wires were corroded which led to the control module to corrode at the connection. Common problem with the C class.

Just an FYI.
