Air Vent Flap Failure
Hi Everyone,
Noticed today that one of my air vent flaps was not controllable and went to move the control up a bit, thinking maybe it just got stuck. Next thing I know I heard a metal clank and the little metal piece that connects all the vent flaps fell off. Now I only have sideways airflow control and the flaps are just, well, flapping around. I've never had this happen before in any car, and would never expect it in a Mercedes-Benz. It's sort of comical. The piece literally fell right out into the front of the vent and I fished it out with a magnet keychain.
I called my service adviser and am taking the car in tomorrow. I am still under the factory warranty so hoping this is covered.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Dealer did take care of it for me. Still don't understand how that thing popped out. I gave them the piece and they simply removed the air vents and positioned it back. Everything works fine now and no charge to me to fix it. I think it took an hour of their time on warranty.
