Now that I see it's not the dealership's fault at all, I wouldn't expect them to give me anything for free. Its like getting hit in Target parking lot and expecting Target to be responsible instead of the criminal driver?

+1. If it isnt showing up on ur carfax and it wasnt the dealer fault they are doing right by you. Id be very nice to them and if u want to ask for anything more id keep it to simple things like oil changes.
Case can br made for DV claim on the guys insurance that actually hit you. Id pursue that..but that will most likely lead to it showing up on ur carfax...but if u get paid then its only fair that it shows up on carfax so the next owner knows the real deal. Up to u. Good luck

I would disagree. if you handed the dealer your key and it was damaged whilst they had the keys then it's their responsibility. Not quite the same as being hit whilst parked in a Target lot.
