C250CDi AMG Sport+ Estate
C250CDi Estate with AMG style V wheels
I hope that the following proves useful to people, as it took me a long time to come up with some of the answers, and then a leap of faith which fortunately worked out fine!
For various reasons I decided to replace the standard fit wheels on my W204 estate. Being a 250CDi AMG Sport plus I established that the specs for the wheels, Style 760 18", were:
Front
7.5 x 18 ET47
PCD 5x112/66.6
(Tyres 225/40/18)
Rear
8.5x18 ET54
PCD 5x112/66.6
(Tyres 255/35/18)
Having established the above, the next problem was trying to find out what styles were available to use instead, and then try and decide what I liked....
I'm pleased to say that this place gave me some good information, and inspiration!
Long story short I eventually decided that the MB designers got it right and its very difficult to improve on the "proper" AMG look. However I wasnt prepared to push the budget far enough to get the real thing. One of the reasons for changing the wheels was to get away from the polished/lacquer issues, so I opted for a standard "hypersilver" painted finish.
I'm sure that there will be plenty of people who object to using parallel/copy/imitation wheels, and also plenty who will think I'm trying to create a pretend AMG - I'm the first to admit I'd love a C63 but I couldnt live with the mpg! Mine is a C250CDi, and the badges are staying on it!
So what I have fitted are:
Front
8.5 x 19 ET42
PCD 5x112/66.6
(Tyres 235/35/19)
Rear
9.5 x 19 ET42
PCD 5x112/66.6
(Tyres 265/30/19)
This sizing falls within the accepted parameters, and I can confirm that in practise they fit fine with no rubbing.
I really like the look of the wheels, the increased diameter, and the new stance.
Given all the variables I was loathe to just order the wheels online, so it was great to find someone reasonably local to me. I can thoroughly recommend Wheelheaven/John Wood Tyres in Hereford - an excellent family business who gave lots of assistance prior to ordering, and followed up with a great fitting service.
Hope you all like!
(P.S. I put the CKS grille on when it was new)
