W205 - will service be less expensive?
So one of the reasons that MB service in the U.S. is so expensive is because parts and assembly doesn't happen here. Assuming parts are already here due to assembly in Alabama, do you think service prices might be cheaper?
Are ML parts cheaper than GLK parts now perhaps?
I guess I always assumed American car service is cheap here for the same reason MB service is cheap in Europe - domestic car service is less expensive than foreign car service, no matter where you are.
Am I on to something? Or drunk?

Most dealers charge the same amount for routine service for all models except V12, AMG or Diesel. Routine maintenance cost for C, E, and S class is the same. Only areas where there may be differences are brake rotors and spark plug replacement (more cylinders, more cost). The cost for dealer routine maintenance varies considerable across the country. "A" service can usually be found for $150 to $160 at dealers in Southern California due to a large number of competing dealers. This can cost considerably more in areas with little competition.
Out of warranty repairs are another matter. Newer vehicles tend to have more complex electronics and more features, all of which can be expensive to repair.
Also, although the new vehicles may be assembled in the US, many of the complex parts will still be produced by the same manufacturers which are in various countries.
