I agree I should have researched more before buying my used c250. I have decided Ill pick and choose what I want them to touch at the dealer while im under warranty after that I will be doing all maintenance. They told me just oil change is 200 so that seems about right for all the other worthless items they say they will do.

I'm in a middle of a Service-A right now. Dealer "promo" is $199, and Service-B should be at least 1.5x that.
No one IMO, should get a Mercedes (any car actually) blindly. I always find it interesting to see BMW users complain how much service at the dealer cost when their factory maintenance plan runs out. If you think MB/BMW is expensive, wait until you get in a Porsche (or any 6-figure car).
P.S.
IMO...everyone SHOULD do dealer service if your car is still under manufacturer warranty. The way I see it, the part that I'm paying for most is NOT the oil change, but all the things they inspect (and WANT TO REPLACE), expecting to write them off for warranty service. When the warranty period wears out, fine, you can be a free agent at that point (aka indy shop) since anything else at this point will be out of pocket. But in the mean time, why not use the dealer's trained nose to sniff out anything/everything when it's still not on your dime?

Personally, I'd avoid dealer service and find a good indy mechanic. It will save you a lot of money.

When I brought my car in for the first A service, they talked me into the prepaid plan. Ended up getting the 3yr plan for $899 which include two A service, one B service, and a brake fluid flush.
Just the A service alone was $245.
I was going to get a BMW mechanic friend of mine to do the service after hours at the BM dealership, but just buying the oil was a PITA up here. Almost nobody carried it, and the ones that did only had the 0w40/5w40 mobil1 in 1L cans @ $13/L. Add in the filter and you might as well just go to the dealership.
In the States, you just stroll into any Walmart and walk out with 2 jugs @ $23/jug any day of the week *sigh*

My B service included $275 in labor, $83 in parts, they gave me a $75 discount which ran me to $283. Without the discount I guess I would've been close to your price.

I was quoted around $300 I think. Being that I needed my yearly PA car inspection...and most of "B" is part of a regular inspection I just had them inspect the car and I did the rest myself, including resetting the service reminder.

E350 with 63k miles. I have an extended warranty through Carmax. My B service required indicator popped up about 12k miles ago. The dealership wants $300+ for the service. Should I find an independent shop to perform the service or go with dealership?
