Dealer oil change question

I was under the impression that the dealer changes the oil using a pump and does not drain the oil from beneath the engine.

I was going over my old service receipts and they charged me for this part:
007603-014106

which is an oil drain plug seal.

Does this mean my dealer is draining the oil from beneath the engine?

I'm going to change it myself next time because they charge way too much. I've read lots of threads saying to use a pump because that is how Mercedes says you should do it.

Thanks

interesting to know I just assumed they drained it since it has a plug.

The dealer that I go to New Country in Hartford, CT their tech says they drain it he feels it's better because some old oil is left in the pan. He also said the cost of the machine is another reason the dealership does it the old fashion. I like it because they have to remove the lower protection shield and they get a good look at the lower part of the engine.

Cost of the machine? For a dealer? Some members on this board have shop quality machines in their own garages.
