c350 engine swap
Okay, so before we start, I ask that none of you shame me for what i've done lol.
There was this huge flash flood, i drove into a puddle, that was actually a lake, and hydrolocked my engine in a 2013 c350 4matic.
they are saying to do an engine swap. now, i suppose i can take the car anywhere and put in any engine i want at this point... what would you experts here recommend?
same engine if i can find it, or something more powerful?

My son did that to his new at the time Mustang GT with less than 6000 miles on it. Insurance paid to replace the engine and water damage almost $ 12,000 total. car was never the same, water not only hydrolocked the engine but got int the transmission and differential and later caused problems.
if I had it to do over I fight to total the car but if they wont just replace with the same factory replacement engine and then sell it its a C class MBZ its not a hot rod that you will gain anything by replacing for a different engine

If insurance is paying for it, they won't allow you to do anything other than replace it with identical original engine.
If you are paying for it, you're probably better off parting the car out then paying for a new engine.

I'm pretty sure you could perform the Brabus Engine swap, however I don't know much information about it, all I know is its a 4.0 V6 engine.

Where is that lake as I need to see if my boat can ride on it (kidding). You must be desperate to cross that flash flood. Just replace the engine with the same type and call it a day. You will spend more money trying do a frankenstein than trading that car right now and get hit big.

@shotgun_banjo haha, it was a crazy situation. road was clear, then within 30 seconds this huge downpour hit the ground, stalled my car, then i was stuck in the car for about 40 minutes while the water raised up about 2 feet up the side of my door.
good thing mercedes has good seals on their doors.
