So I've had my beloved C350 in beautiful satin black for the last 4 years or so, its how I purchased the vehicle but...it had no clear coat so the sun has caused some fading over time, its not bad yet but I would like to get it redone within a year or so...I tried calling the dealership I purchased the car from and they want to charge me almost 3k for a single stage paint job which is way over the top, I have called a few shops and seen some pics they have done but its not the right amount of sheen, they're too flat. Anyone know a shop in so cal or even someone that used to work at a shop that is reputable and does good work? I knew a shop that did it but they went out of business, beautiful satin paint jobs for around 1k (Single Stage). Id really like to get it done in satin blue/black. My car is currently just satin black, I DO NOT WANT VINYL WRAP.

I know this doesnt answer your question, but how do you care for a satin finish? I'm going to do my car satin pearl white, and the caring for the paint job is what holding me back. Is it hard to upkeep the satin?

Yes, its pretty easy to clean, just soap and water, some companies make "special" cleaners but none of them ever did anything special for mine... it is very touchy, scratches cant be buffed and the sun will eat it up unless you get the new satin clear coat some shops have...I bought my car from a dealer who didnt clear coat it, I didnt know about it till a 2 years later and the paint began to fade, Im gona get the finish redone somewhere else since they werent very honest with somethings I asked about, but when I get it done it will be parked in garage 100% of the time when Im home and a car cover when parked outside for more than a day...
