COMAND HOV Problems - solution??
I just purchased a CPO 2012 C300 - my first MB. So far I absolutely love it, but I'm having one major issue with the navigation. The person at the dealership doesn't seem to know what is going on, but I'm thinking that they just aren't paying much attention to the problem.
I live in DC, as such we have a LOT of time restricted access/carpool lanes. I live in the city and commute to the suburbs for work, so most of those time restrictions do not apply to me. That being said, the navigation will constantly divert me off of any road that EVER has restrictions at all. I live in DC and work near Dulles airport - the most succinct way to work is almost always I-66. Every morning, when i start the car and direct it to my work, it notes a really roundabout way and shows that the drive time is around 1hr. As i ignore those directions and go on i-66, it tells me that 'i'm entering a carpool lane.' That direction is only a carpool lane in the afternoon, when there is a restriction for 2 or more people per car. As I drive, my estimated time of arrival keeps going down (so it knows that this is faster and isn't directing me off the interstate due to traffic). However, it tells me to leave the interstate at every exit. The funny thing is that I've gone into the menus and set the amount of passengers in the car to 2+, so even if it thinks that I'm in an active carpool lane, i should be OK to use it. It seems to do this on whichever route type (fastest, shortest, etc).
The version of COMAND noted is 2011/2012. I can't figure out whether this is old online and/or if an update would even make a difference. It's extremely frustrating; because of where i live, most of my drives seem to have the same problem. Could this be a different problem entirely?
Thoughts?

The odd thing is that it's almost like the menu where I select the amount of passengers has no bearing whatsoever...
