Window tint
I'm thinking about getting some heat reduction tints, called a shop in the Bay Area(recommended by dealership) and was recommended the crystalline 90/70 or the air llumar. Prices are 800 for crystalline and 650 for llumar for 4x windows and 2x windshields.
Any opinions on the film and am I getting ripped off?

not sure about crystalline but i heard of it and has been offer to me while i was getting my windows tinted. price was about the same 600 to 700 range i went with llumar it was a bit less in price. LOL anyways alot of high end shops use llumar is up there.

Damn that's expensive. Llumar film runs around $300 installed in New England. I would suggest Huper Optik if you can get it. My friend got it installed and says it's phenomenal and actually appears 5% darker and is slightly reflective in direct sunlight.

I did Crystalline all around on mine for $490 in Los Angeles. It really is superior. Since I don' like the 'black out' look and the heat rejection on the 3M crystalline is superior, I went with a 50% tint on all window for a uniform look. I hate having lighter fronts and darker backs... That looks tacky to me.
You can go 40% to add more visible light block and still be legal in all states.

Thats about what I paid here in Baltimore. I didn't do the front windshield but I did the back all at 50% that along with the factory tint gave me about 30% just a tad more then Maryland law allows. But Im a older guy, so I should have any problems and I have a light interior

I too went with 50%, I did it all around including windshields and it looks perfect. While 35% might have looked better it would get me stopped constantly as any under 80% is not legal here in NYC. Haven't been stopped for my tint and I've even been through police check points.

Thanks and by the way it looks great, I was considering something darker but figured it might be annoying looking out dark windows at night. ill be sure to post some pics once I get mine installed !
