C vs S mode?

hi guys is there something else that change from comfort to sport mode beside switching at higher engine speed and starting on the 1st gear? I believe I feel the steering wheel and the throttle is more responsive??

If you floor it in C (or E for 2012+) you'll still start in first.
I doubt it does anything for steering or throttle, probably all transmission.
I feel like it will hold a gear longer before it upshifts in S.

Factory ordered 2012 MB C350 w/Dynamic Handling Package
Depends if you have the dynamic handling package installed.

With it, it also changes suspension stiffness.

According to page 150 of the MB owners manual for 2013:

"Drive program S (drive programs S and S+ on AMG vehicles) is characterized by the following:
-sporty engine and automatic transmission settings
-the vehicle pulling away in first gear
-the automatic transmission shifting up later
-the fuel consumption possibly being higher as a result of the later automatic transmission shift points"

Different button to who? For me, that's the only button you can press to switch between the "C vs S mode".

Features of the dynamic handling package are activated by the button I posted. Not by putting the car in S vs C.

Pressing that button you posted, DOES switch the car in C vs S. For those with dynamic handling package, it is the ONLY way to switch from C to S. The button located on the shifter does not, as it is reprogrammed to do another function. However the user did not specifically say which button he pushes to switch modes. Hence why I brought the subject up.

Oh cool, thanks. I thought that it was two separate sport functions for whatever reason, but it makes sense that it is one button.

thanks to all! I drove it yesterday from morning to evening on S mode and it does feel more responsive on the pedal, and actually the MPG was good too, I found a post about a guy who was having a better MPG on a sport mode so I will check that out

It will definitely feel more responsive, however to be that AND more economical is counter-intuitive.

I suppose you can temporarily game the system, however in the long run, C-mode will end up being more economical than S-mode.
