Looking for more performance mostly jb+ advice
Ok so i got my 2014 c250, time to do some mods...... Now I've called some local shops to do a custom tune but nothing not even then famous "renntec".....soooooooo now i need my fellow forum members advice.....So i was thinking of starting off the with jb+ chip and intake, which should add close to 30whp.... has anyone done this? every shop has told me that when they installed it, they actually lost performance maybe because i wasn't going to do anything with them so they bad talked the JB+.......Please if you have the chip how the performance how big of a difference did you see? I don't want to spend the money and not get nothing.... i do plan on doing down pipes and exhaust to try to get to 50whp added :woo woo: lol but right now I'm concern with the chip........all input please opinions welcomed.....There might be some typos I'm typing through my iPhone

You won't get anywhere near 30whp. I have the jb+ and honestly.. it's "barely" noticeable if that. I have it turned up to 75%.. at 100% the car felt kind of jittery but not necessarily faster.

Really? Not even bottom end, I meant 30whp with the jb+and intake...... What you mean by jittery?..... I plan to later on not now so downpipes and straight pipes back and pray to God I get close to 50whp lol..... I seen on YouTube a c250 stock race a chipped 250 and beat him by 3 cars look it up type c250 tune.... If it gains atleast that.... I don't mind.....

Jittery as in no lag on the accelerator pedal. Like if it was too sensitive.. You could hear the turbo waste valve on even the slightest touch to the pedal.
Not to mention I get a limp mode condition every time I put it in sports mode and try to gun it. I even tried 40% on the jb tune.
I would say the price to power ratio is bad, but if you want at least some gains and got the money for it, go for it.

Limp mode is basically the car detecting some kind of unsafe condition. It cuts the power to the car and acceleration. You will be unable to accelerate to make passes.
You can search for limp mode and read more about it.

It is my understanding that on the 14's, you may have to dial it down to as low as 20-25 so it would not go into limp mode. I tune cars but I have not purchased the JB tuner yet but will attempt to explain this in a very simple language. It appears that in 2013 + years, Mercedes increased the power on the stock tune of the c250 which is why the 2012's are realizing better results and/or can turn up "power" much higher with the tuner. The 2013 & 2014's will also benefit but should lower the % until it does not go into limp mode. For example, the 2012's at 80% may equal a 2014 at 30% (same power) before each would go into limp mode. (not actual numbers, but to give you an idea of why some are doing well at 90% and others can't go over 25%).

The problem with limp mode could be solve by going to the dealer and getting ecu software update. The most recent ecu update came out in September witch solves the turbo lag/ acceleration problem. I had jb tune at 90% on my 2013 c250 never had problems with it.

I highly doubt it. They don't update the cars at the dealer unless you ask for it or there is a problem with the car. Since your model is 2014 the car was made in 2013 or very early in 2014. The best way to find out if you have the latest software version is to take to the dealership. It's free as long your car is under warranty.
