Is the front lower grill a DIY job?

I have a 2008 C350 with a broken front lower grill, you know the one, it's the one that attracts tire irons at 60mph. Luckily not the one with the emblem. Anyway, anybody know of an online store to buy one of these grills, and if so, is it a DIY job and how do you do it? I can't seem to find any videos on it.

You could put a race mesh grill on (http://www.racemeshgrilles.com/) that what I have. You don't even have to take out the old one.

I'm not really looking for a racing mesh grill though. I just want a cheap replacement piece. Thanks though, maybe one day.

I've been trying to find a good replacement as well, but to date not many options other than the original plastic.

I'm okay with the original plastic, I just wanna make sure I can put it in right and take the old one out without breaking anything.

I replaced my lower grille this past summer. The parts guys told me the front bumper cover had to come off and they were right. Something so close to the surface of the car shouldn't be so involved to replace. You'd think the MB engineers started with the grille and then built the rest of the car around it.

Anyway, I watched a couple of front bumper removal videos on youtube and went ahead with it. Just be patient and take your time. There are a lot of plastic tabs to pry. It's helpful to have a 2nd person on hand when trying to put the cover back on (it's kind of flimsy) and be sure to put some protective tape on the edge of the fenders to prevent scratching.

Do you mind posting pics of the race mesh? I've been thinking of getting a set to fix my broken lower grille. Thanks!

I talked to a body shop guy and he said I shouldn't have to take off the bumper just to put the grill on. I'd have to spend some time really looking at it and maybe trying to pry off the grill to find out if he was right. I could jus break it out piece by piece and I should be able to snap it into place.
