'Driving style' reset?
On my 3 Series, the car used to learn your 'driving style' and would adapt to that. ie. if you were a relaxed driver and picked up speed slowly the ecu would adapt to that, which could reduce acceleration etc. when needed.
To reset this, there was a method of 'turn key' 'take key out' etc... that would reset this - it was noticeable when you reset it.
I read somewhere once that the same with Merc. I have an 08 C220 W204 - does anyone know what the reset method is? Thanks

You can reset your TCU which will restore your transmission to factory shift point and begin learning your driving style.
1 Set the ignition to the on position
2 Step on the gas pedal all the way and hold for 5 seconds
3 Turn the key to the off position
4 Let go of the gas pedal

7 Open door
And this resets the throttle body adaptives, not transmission....and it DOES make a difference.....

in lots of vehicles there is a chime or a CEL flash sequence specific to different individual resets or programming functions successful completion but to answer your question directly, NO....for this particular adaptive reset there is no indication of success other than you can definately tell when you drive it again. now keep in mind, if you drive reserved, normal and do a lot of commute style driving then the difference is DRAMATIC and you can tell immediately, however, if you drive like a raped ape all of the time then you may not even be able to tell a difference at all as the adaptives have set themselves for that aggressive driving style you have shown it.
