Becker Map Pilot feedback

Looking to purchase a C250. I need navigation but do not want to pay big $ for multimedia package or a navigation hanging on my windshield. I think the only option is Becker Map Pilot. However, I heard many bad reviews about this unit, such as maps are not updated and PC can not read the unit. Anyone has Becker Map Pilot installed that can share some feedback?

Many thanks

Alvin

I have the Becker Map Pilot. Though I haven't used it all that much, it seems to do it's job pretty well so I don't really have any qualms about it. Maps seem to be accurate for me thus far. How often do you plan on using it?

I have not had the chance to use the navigation that comes with the multimedia package so I can't really comment on that but if you just need a simple navigation that gets you where you need to be, I think the Becker should suffice.

I have the Becker Map pilot as well. It works just as well as my Tom Tom. Have had no issues with updates via my computer and the voice commands are straight forward. Not sure why there have been so many negative comments but it works as intended. It will get you from point A to point B

Thanks guys, that is all I needed to know. Sounds it is doing its job just fine. I think there is no need to pay extra $ for MM package since I just need a basic navigation system.

Unhappy Becker Map Pilot Update problems

I have a Becker Map Pilot M054 / factory mounted in my GLK 2014. The Becker Map Pilot has had problems to connect to any PC since it was new. The seller installed the first updates for me, by connecting it to a Windows XP computer. (The last XP alive may be?)
I have tried to update it´s maps this week using the Becker Content Manager on different computers, with Win7, Win8 and Win10, but it does not work. Perhaps it works only with WinXP? That is not very well in line with MB slogan "MB the best or nothing"

Keep in mind Mercedes doesn't make it, Becker/Harmon does. You have a unit that probably has a faulty USB connection.

I've also read somewhere that pre-2013/2014 made modules had an inferior voice recognition system. I forget where I read that the newer made modules have an updated voice recognition that you cannot get through a software update. If you're going to buy one they are all stamped with their manufacture date on them, make sure you buy one that is relatively new.
