Since the weather has been getting cooler, I've noticed a popping/cracking sound coming from the roof. I first thought it was coming from the back of the car, but riding in the backseat, I noticed its coming from the roof above the passenger seat.
Has anyone else had this problem? It may have to do with the sunroof? I have the standard sunroof... My car is still under warranty, so I will be addressing this at my next service.

not sure but my first thought that came to mind was shattering sunroof/moonroof/panoroof. there was a few cases that people had their roof shattering on them. due to the heat and cold weather. that might not be the case but i would inspect it for any cracks.

I bought a 2014 c 300 and have the same problem. I posted this but no one had any info. My guess is that it does have to do with the rigidity and flexation at the sun roof, but have no real info. Please post any results from your dealer. i am due for my 10K in march and i will do likewise. I dont want that "nothing detected at this time" nonsense if I can avoid!

Check that little slidey portion of the moonroof that covers it. If it is pushed too far back then it will get stuck and make some odd noise. But other than that it's probably just the weatherproofing.

My car makes a popping sound in extreme hot or cold temps, but only when I've first required it to flex, like going over a driveway apron that is a sharp turn but also an unequal hill.
I always thought it was the black bars on both sides that run from base of windshield to the top of the rear window. Each side has two flaps that open. I think it's those black bars/trim pieces just adjusting because the car itself it very strong/rigid.
Basically, if it's only once a day or so, I'd not worry about it.

Yep... mine creaks and pops quite a bit. My new house has a 3 carlength curved, rather steep driveway. I have to approach it almost perpendicular to avoid dragging the front bumper and still scrape half of the time. The extreme angle + cold temps + near full lock wheel, and my car sounds like it is twisting something crazy.
