2008 C300 Brake Issues
Greetings all, just wanted to say it looks like a great forum here from what I've read!
I recently picked up an 08 C300 4Matic, auto, with just under 37k miles on the clock.
I've noted a slight steering wheel vibration from about 60+ which I've attributed to old/out of balance tires. But when I firmly apply brakes from these speeds I get a decent amount of wobble in the car which I would normally attribute to warped front brake rotors. The vibration is more through the floor/seat rather than the steering wheel though.
I plan on purchasing new tires after this winter, is it worth having them balanced/front end aligned now or should I wait? Could this be a problem with the rear rotors?
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Just wanted to note that on 9/15/14 it was at the local Mercedes dealership for some minor things where completed as well as rear brake pads put on, and the brake system flushed.
The continental tires were MFG'd in 2010 which leads me to believe they were put on around September 2011 (14,000 miles ago) when this vehicle was listed as dealer inventory (CarFax.)
Now that I look at it the rear tires seem just fine while the front ones show show a lot of toe wear on the outside...

Were the brake pads replaced without replacing the rotors? The rear brakes might not be bedded properly on the rotor, or the rotor itself may be worn, resulting in some vibration

Solved my problem!
For anyone that stumbles across this thread in the future the issue was my front rotors, changed them out and the problem is 100% gone. The weird part was that I felt the vibration through my seat/floor and hardly any in the wheel. I also had all 4 balanced which solved my high speed vibration issue.
Also here's a great video for doing the front and rears on your C300:
