Car got broken into
My car window was broken into the other day. Luckily they only smashed the rear passenger window and stole a backpack (with nothing in it except books).
What is the most affordable option to getting a new glass window?
Is it possible to install the window at home, or would taking it to a dealer/specialist be the best option?

Doing it yourself is always the cheapest option, but it totally depends on your skill level and the tools you have. From your question whether it's "possible" I'm assuming you are not mostly the DYI type. If that's the case, you might find window glass a frustrating job. But don't go to dealer. Just go to a glass shop.

Not sure if you located in the USA or not, but I know my insurance has zero deductible glass coverage. I had the same thing happen except that it was the front passenger window on my ML and they stole my mother-in-law's purse (which was later recovered minus the cash). I just called my insurance company. They contacted the glass company who called me, made an appointment and replaced the window at no charge.

I have the Valentine V1 coming and wonder if it will be a target here. Most break ins here are for quick drug sale items.
