Help~ C350 paddle shift fitted problem.
Hi all!
I have 2009 C350 Sport(W204).
My car handle is no paddle shift. (3-spoke type)
Now my car is fitted with the c63 paddle shift. Now not working.
But I know it should be coding.
This work just by changing C63 handle without coding?
Ex.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-W204-C204-AMG-Wheel-Lenkrad-Lederlenkrad-Lenkrad-Leder-/121471796252?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item1c4848841chttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Benz-C63-AMG-w204-C-class-Lenkrad-airbag-Steering-wheel-with-airbag-/251757232591?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item3a9de681cf

Coding
Hi There,
Yes coding is indeed needed to activate the paddles. Do you have access to a star diagnostic machine with DAS developer? If so I can help you not only enable the paddles but also enable the full manual transmission mode like the C63 has
If no access to star diagnostics then you're really going to have a hard time since no dealer will ever do it....
PM if you have questions...

Sorry without DAS developer and the w204 menu (enabled in DAS) you're going to have a very hard time... The only other option is to get Vediamo and use that... What type of multiplexer does your friend have C3 or C4?

CAn you PM me the instructions. I installed mine over a year ago, but everything I read, said that it can't be done.
I have a shop locally that has DAS dev.

Hi all!!!
I have a w204 C200 Cdi Avantgarde 2013 non Amg, i have installed paddles shifters and activate code 428 but don't appear M mode, only appear E mode and S mode, if i push the paddles shifters are working and appears D3, D4...
It' s necesary change buttons E/S for E/S/M mode? In other models isn't necesary change these buttons but i can't activate M mode
Regards

How did you activate it? By dealer (add 428 to VeDoc + Online SCN of VGSNAG2 and IC)? Or did you do it using Vediamo (like I do) or DAS developer? If you did it the dealer way then maybe you need another code in addition to 428)... If you did it another way then you may need to adjust your variant code for the VGSNAG2..
Also just had a thought... Is your car equipped with the 7G transmission? If not then you're SOL AFAIK
If you need more help, pm me...

Hey just checked my resources and see that as of model year 2012 you need option code 950 in addition to 428.... Add 950 to your VeDoc and online SCN the VGSNAG2 again... It should do the trick but please post your results so we all know

My Car was a 2010 but has been replaced by a 2013 E550 sedan (I already have installed and activated the E63 wheel in it too). I do everything myself and avoid all the dealer stuff

Okay, like I said it appears you need 950 (amg sports package) too... Have them update your VeDoc and code it again...

If you can provide me your current variant code for the VGSNAG2 module (See my instructions below on how to find this) along with your VIN, I should be able to provide you the new variant code to use...

Checking current VGS variant code
1. Launch Xentry and select your vehicle.
2. Once you have selected your vehicle, launch the diagnostics application.
3. Once loaded click the "control unit view" tab, next select "type of drive" from the left sub menu and then select the "VGS - Transmission control" in the right sub menu and complete by click the "continue" button.
4. Once loading is complete, click on the "Adaptations" tab, next expand the "Configuration" sub menu, then expand the "SCN" sub menu and then click on "Display of coding data".
5. Make note of the value for "Variant coding". Which is usually a string of 4 alphanumeric values

Hi!
The w204 cars (same year as mine),but with pack amg, you can see in the display only the speed that you go, and I add codes 428+950 appears the 1234567 speeds in the display... Do you Know why this happens?
For me it's better as it got.
Thanks...

Glad to hear that the extra code (950) did the trick... As for your question about the gear display, the AMG instrument cluster actually has different software than the standard W204 and what you're seeing is the AMG menu which also shows things like oil temp too. So not to worry your car is now setup properly and you should enjoy the manual mode quite a bit (I use it most of the time and it's way better than gear limiting that is standard)... Anyway once again happy to hear the good news
