Considering a 2008 C300 w 56k miles. The dealer says they can CPO it for 1500, which I didn't know they could do. With the CPO and the unlimited mileage for 12 months that is very appealing as I drive 150 miles a day.
What concerns should I have for this model/year of car?

My humble opinion would be if you drive 40,000 to 50,000 miles per year a 7 year old luxury vehicle with 56k on it is probably not your best option. If you do and are not paying cash I would recommend a 3 year loan at most since in 3 years the vehicle will have around 200k miles on it. If you are simply asking if the CPO is worth it then I would say yes if you plan on packing that kind of miles on it. There is a decent chance that you would rack up $1500 in repairs over the 12 months that would be covered my CPO warranty. Especially if you plan to repair at MB and not through an indy.

I agree with above. Go buy a Honda or Toyota if youre driving that much. If you want something a little more comfortable make it an Acura or Lexus.

GET THE CPO! Always get the CPO on a used vehicle. You never know what the previous owner did to it. The first year I had my C300 I had to have the fuel pump AND the catalytic converters replaced. The previous owner had it on a lease so they were probably putting regular gas in it for its first 30K miles.

Im glad I had the CPO. It would have cost me a small fortune even if I did the work myself. You can also extend the CPO another year at the end. I chose not to because I do my own vehicle work and Im crossing my fingers that the bugs from the previous owner have been worked through.

I've had a list of problems with both 2008 models I own. I would avoid the 08 model. Look at the 10-11.

Always try to avoid the first year of a new redesign. The last year of a generation is usually the best but by then the design is usually tired looking and dated and people want the new one.

Pick a timeless generation and it will always look good through the years. Like the 4th generation Honda Accord. Not like any generation PT Cruiser
