Like in the other posts about this "Problem"... It's not one. It's normal...
All of my cars', past and present, RPM tacs do this.
If you can hear your motor rev up with the tac then disregard. However, if your motor noise does not change with the tac, then you actually might have a problem.

My 2013 C250 with 41,000+ miles does this as well.
I took it to the dealer twice for this issue and was told both times that it was normal.
The dealer had the foreman inspect, test drive, and search for any codes. Foreman told me face to face that the slight variance is normal and that I should only be concerned if I feel the car idle rough/shutter.
Service manager documented my concerns and claimed that if anything in the future occurs related to this issue, they will see I brought it in numerous times and will therefore cover any out-of-warranty work. *CROSSES FINGERS*
Glad to see I’m not the only one experiencing this.

They called that normal?
Looks like the car is mis-reading the RPM and trying to keep the engine from stalling, similar to what you have to do in a manual transmission when in start-stop traffic
My guess would be a dirty or blocked sensor of some sort

I may be mistaken. I took a second look at that video (at home instead of on my phone) and my car does NOT have such a large jump as shown therein.
Mine is so slight that, it took me and the service awhile to even agree on recognizing the slight variance. Your car on the other hand is clear as day, and I noticed many larger spikes intermittently throughout the video.
Let us know what you find out; best of luck.

My cdi c220 had the same issue and I've been searching high and low for the answer. I never found it online, and I rarely post things on forums, but I feel like I can help many people out with this simple solution. I'm sure there are other reasons why revs can fluctuate but for my c220 the problem was that I had a vacuum leak through the engine oil dip stick.
THE SOLUTION was a 2 cent rubber O ring around the top of dipstick lol. I hope this helps a few people out.
