Upgrading audio20 screen size?
Hi all. I tried to do some searching on this topic but couldn't find much info.
So, I have the smaller dash-integrated screen that comes with the audio 20 (not the flip-up screen in older pre-facelift w204s). I was wondering whether or not it would be possible to swap out the current screen with the larger screen that comes with the COMAND systems. Just to be clear, I am NOT looking to retrofit the actual COMAND system, I just want to upgrade the screen size for my viewing pleasure.
It seems as though it wouldn't be too daunting of a task. Has anybody attempted and/or successfully accomplished this?

Even if he wanted to do something as distasteful as that, he couldn't, because he drives a facelift car.
I'm not sure if the screen is a modular component of the audio system. Replacing the screen requires replacing the bezel around the screen as well, which is connected to the gauge cluster. There are aftermarket replacements to the entire audio 20 system which contain a larger screen and the bezel replacement. You might be able to figure out how to use the bezel and screen from something like this to replace the audio 20 screen. But it is likely that the audio 20 system is designed to only operate at a certain resolution, and scaling it up would probably make it look really bad.

haha bigger screen? yes. iPad? Not so much...
JaredP, thanks for the info. It seems like the project in itself would not be so difficult (changing the bezel and adding the screen). I guess the main issue now, as you pointed out, would be the screen resolution...
