Washer Fluid Leak

Hey guys,

I seem to have a leak coming from the window washer fluid reservoir. Is there anything simple to check such as a hose or anything like that before I take anything apart to try to fix the issue. I do not think that it was the cause of a rock or something like that because it seems to be too compact in that area for a rock to make it through the fog light grill and do damage to the reservoir. My thinking was some hose might of came loose. Any thoughts on that guys?

You need to take it out and have a look.

That's exactly what happened to my wife's 2005 C230. When I pour the windshield washer fluid in the reservoir, it leaks.

I had to take the front/left wheel off and removed the liner to access the reservoir. I found that the washer pump rubber O-ring wasn't keeping the fluid inside of the reservoir (the fluid went through the O-ring). I replaced the washer pump and O-ring. No more leaks.

I think that's what you need to do that. The pump can be purchased at AutoZone for $26 and the O-ring from Mercedes dealer for about a dollar.

Hope it helps...and by the way, I'm a half Croatian!

Haha I just saw this post.. 1/2 Croatian, thats interesting. I do not run into too many of my fellow Croats often.

As far as the leak. I still have not had a chance to check it out but I did speak to my service adviser and he instructed me towards the same thing since it leaks enough to set off the sensor. Do I need to replace the pump itself or just the O-Ring to fix my issue or both?

I had a chance to finally check out the leak issue.. It seems to be coming from the window washer pump itself. Here is a picture. What is the best method to fix this? Replace the motor itself?
