Question Tips, hints, helps for a first time owner

Howdy,
After doing some search through the threads I really couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, so I'm asking directly. The wife and I picked up a 2010 C300 sport last weekend and it's our first luxury car of any kind. I think I have figured out most of the operation of the displays and the options pretty well. I have synched the wife's phone to the car via bluetooth, and she is able to make and receive phone calls just fine. I have not been able to use the bluetooth to allow her to use pandora or iheart on it though. My question is; is this an option on this particular model, or will I have to use the cable through the aux port in the glove box only? That just seems a little redneck to me.

Any other tips or "hacks" for this car would be appreciated too. Thanks in advance!

The "Sport" model isn't really a luxury car as the ride is really... "Sporty" lol.

However, to answer your question. It sounds like you do not have the right package to stream audio through Bluetooth. There's only certain radios that are able to do this. I have a 2010 model as well, and I'm only able to stream phone calls through Bluetooth. If you want to play audio from your phone, you'll have to do it through the AUX cord in the glove box.

Also for new owners, this thread is a must read:

Welcome to the forum, rescue48! Congrats on the new car. The sport model may not be luxury, but Mercedes is

Anywho, just wanted to echo Skyline45s comment above, the link to the thread he posted is helpful in getting familiar with your new car. Best of luck.

I found that quite annoying as well how the auxillary port is in the glove box. I also do not have the multimedia package so I can only connect my phone via Bluetooth for phone calls only.

To counter the problem to stream music by Bluetooth, I simply bought a Bluetooth reciever that plugs into the auxillary port. Connect your phone to the Bluetooth receiever and you're good to go.

Thumbs up

I hear ya on the "luxury" moniker! However; my wife has driven two minivans for the last 18 years... so this is definitely luxury to her!

I drive a Ford pickup, so it's luxury for me too heh. Anyway, thanks for the link to the thread. Looks like we're gonna continue using the cable for anything streaming. On the up side, it does have satellite radio, so we're going to keep listening to that until they either turn it off or start sending us a bill and we will re-evaluate the use then.

Got the newest model of this little gadget, as the sat radio stopped coming in a few days ago, and went into preview mode. Works pretty well. I might get one for my truck.
