W204 Rear door speakers upgrade . Infinity Kappa

Dear friends,

I changed my old W203 Avantgard estate for a new W204 estate last June.
The new car (a good deal at Mercedes Portugal) came with Comand Online but with terrible stock sound.

Last month I replaced the front speakers to Infinity Kappa 60.11CS. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! And I didn't add any amps, just the power output of the radio was enough for a dramatic improvement.
I installed them myself with the help of some posts here in the forum.

I would like to replace the rear door speakers too with the Infinity Kappa 62.11i (coaxial speakers) but I read somewhere that the rear door housing of the speaker is more swallow compared with the front doors.

Is this true? The speakers I want to install are 2-1/8" (53mm) deep.
Will they fit?
Thank you for any help.

Andre

Hi Sincity,

Thank you for the reply.
Aren't the 62.9 oval?
I have an estate, not the salon version

As Sincity says, the 62.9s fit in the rear - but just barely in my experience. Make sure the windows go up and down before putting the panel back on. Also, make sure they are in phase not only L and R rear, but front and back too. Good luck.
