2008 C300 Oil Leak

So I get a call from my mechanic stating the the cam plugs and crank case is leaking oil in the back of the engine. Is this a normal problem? Car has 110k miles on it. He quoted me $280 to fix the leak.

Does this sound right to you?

is there anyway to tell from looking under the car. will it be on the underbody cover? or just around the crank case?

I ended up buying the cam plugs for $20shipped. I will be changing them out as soon as I get the new ones in.

It looks like an easy install for the cam plugs. I'll see if that fixes the issue.

I thought there was a recall on that??
Try looking it up, if so, the dealer has to make it right.
When I went to the dealer to get the taillight connector fixed, they looked up other recalls and the cam solenoid and cam plugs were changed under recall, all for free.
Couldn't hurt.

I had the oil changed in my 2009 C300 with 71,000 miles yesterday and the oil service man tells me I have an oil leak. Looking up from the bottom on the drivers sidr of the motor we could not see where it was coming from. Where should I start and where is a cam plug ?

Yes common. Buy that printed e is insane. It takes 10 mins to do and parts are 5 dollars.

Isn't there a DIY how to do this? If not I'll make one for you guys. It's too simple to do to pay that much money.
