where does remote wire go from aftermarket amp?

well i had my amp/sub professionally installed a few months ago and just recently i had the ground wire come loose and it touched some metal causing it to blow the inline fuse. replaced the inline fuse and hooked everything back up and the amp wouldnt turn on. I found that if i took part of the remote wire and twisted it in with the battery wire, it would turn on. so i'm not sure if this is how they originally installed this but i dont see why because i feel like it will drain my battery.

so i wanted to check the other end of the remote wire to make sure that didn't come loose or something, but was wondering where the other end would be hooked into? would it be in the command unit? or is there a factory amp that it would be hooked into?

thanks

Did you try calling them and explain that the cable came loose and ask them to fix it? It is one of the reasons why do the installation professionally, to fix if anything goes wrong

The ground wire should be attached to any good bolt or screw connected to the chassis. The remote wire -- make sure it is indeed a remote wire and not a signal sensing wire - you can be connected to the hot glove compartment 12V outlet wire, which is energized when the ignition is turned on. If you have a signal sensing sub that turns on when the HU is turned on, it should be connected to one of the hot speaker wires, either at the HU or at one of the speaker wires, at the bottom of the center pillar or in the running boards. I suggest you read through all the threads. The information is all there.
