New Grille - Need advice
Hey guys,
Just recently purchased the "Brabus" lookalike grille from Ebay for my 2009 C300 Sport. I got it installed very easily. Attached is what it currently looks like.
My problem is that I want it to match the paint with the rest of the car. Here is the original thread that I saw it in. In that thread he said he had it painted Piano Black.
Would you guys recommend trying to plasti dip + clear coat or would it make more sense to take it somewhere and have it painted professionally?
Thanks so much you guys are awesome!

i plasti dipped my grill and it held up fine for a year. you can always redo it in a day once it gets enough rock chips. Much easier/cheaper then having it painted.
You can also use spray wax on it and it'll make Plasti dip look darker/easier to clean.
i never painted my grill, but wouldn't paint chip when hit by rocks (like car paint)??? compared to plasti dip which can be redone fairly easily.

If you have it done professionally, make sure that you ask the bodyshop to use 1) the correct plastic primer and 2) a plasticiser or elastifier in the clearcoat (as they would on a bumper). This will ensure that rocks and chips are less of a problem.
