Warranty vs MODS??

Hey everyone so i have a question i just purchased my c300 2012 from the dealer and i have warranty until 2017. My question is what will classify as a mod that will void your warranty?

I've purchased a front lip and placed hid and tints on my vehicle but didn't want to do anything more without knowing.

You are at the discretion of the dealer unfortunately. Dealer I worked for, I installed tons of aftermarket stuff on Volvo's, because not only was I doing it on the side through ForceFed Motorsports but my service adviser supported it as well. Especially since I was installing them and knew both the quality of the parts and work since I wouldn't install cheap crap.

But for the most part I would highly doubt one would void warranty on an unrelated part. However, things like cheap HID kits have been known to fry electrical components so it's not uncommon there could be some related issues.

If you have electrical issues they may blame it on the HID kit and not warranty any electrical work.
Bolt ons like a lips, diffuser, spoiler won't make a difference. If you install an X pipe or do a muffler delete and you get exhaust error codes they won't warranty the work though any reputable shop should be able to fix that if they screwed up.

2 way radio addition.

I have a 100 watt 2 way ham radio I installed myself. I had a "no audio" issue with the MB radio, GPS, phone etc. and the dealer asked me if the Ham Radio was causing it.
Once they trouble shot the issue it was MBrace "calling home" and getting no answer. They replaced the Mbrace module under warranty. And all is good again.

My control head sits in the console ash tray the main portion of th eradio and antenna conrtoller sits next to the spare.

I have no problem talking to Queensland Australia on the Kansas Turnpike and the guy in Queensland said I sounded as good aa a bigger home station guy on Long Island. I custom fabricated an antenna bracket that comes out from under the bumper opposite of my exaust. I use 8 foot antenna's for over 1000 miles and a 3 foot trunk lid antenna for up to 100 miles. Come trade-in time-- all gone without a mark in 1 hour.

All the electronics on board causes no receiver noise nor versa visa.. Whereas a Hyunda Sonata rendered my radio useless, and no help from Hyundai.

While I recognize that this is a very old thread, I wondered if you or anyone else might share some insights as to where to acquire power for an 80 watt SSB/FM transceiver. I believe that the max power draw will never exceed 15 amps.
