AUX/iPod Not Playing Surround Sound?

AUX/iPod Not Playing Surround Sound?
I can hear my music perfectly when my iPhone or iPod is plugged in, but the sound isn't surround sound like it is when I'm on the radio tab. When using aux, the music is coming directly from the driver side stereo. The balance is even on 0/0 so it should be perfectly aligned for surround sound, but it isn't. How do I fix this? 2010 c300 Luxury

Might be the aux cable.. samething happened to me. Got a new one and it worked perfectly after

Make sure is a stereo cable. The tip would be divided into 3 pieces or more. The one you have most likely is divided into 2. Cheap fix.

Yeah mine just has the double sided where you plug one into your device, and one into the aux. Is there one you recommend?

I would go for Monster cable but there is always Walmart. See the attached pic for an idea of what you are looking for.
