Unavailable options on US market cars
I love my 2013 W204 C, but I can't help but wonder if Mercedes-Benz is cutting costs, or why it doesn't see fit to give us certain options.
I miss two options from my 2001 W203 C that were dropped from subsequent model years. They are:
Global Close Windows & Moonroof - I tend to lower my windows when getting into my car on a hot day, upon activating the climate control, and holding down the recirculate button for a few seconds, all the windows, and moonroof close. I understand it's not difficult to close all the windows, and moonroof, but it is cool to be able to close everything with one button.
Residual Heating - after driving around with the heat on, parking, and turning the car off, you can press the EC/REST button, residual engine heat is pumped into the cabin of the car for about 30 minutes to keep the car warm while you're running a quick errand. As far as I can tell, Canadian Market W204's do have this option.
While not having these options isn't a deal-killer, I do miss having them in my newer C.
The third option I wish US cars had was the tri-zone climate control. Once again, Mercedes Benz saw it fit to give the Canadians a third climate control zone for the rear seat. The control is at the back of the center console, within easy reach of passengers.
It'd be nice if Mercedes-Benz decided to treat all markets equally, when it came to deciding who gets what options.
Thoughts on this?

I really miss the residual heat feature to the point that I drive my 2001 C on really cold days as it has the feature, and keeps the car warm when I run in, and out of places.

On the US Market cars for at least MY2012 and above, does not have power folding review mirrors or Intelligent Lighting System (ILS).
I have, however, have been able to retrofit both of these options on my car using original MB parts acquired through outside sources

How did you retrofit the electrically folding mirrors? It'd be neat to have this feature. Is Intelligent Lighting the same as the Adaptive Lighting (auto high-beams, and curve illumination)? If they are the same thing, then yes, it is an option for US market W204's, when equipped with the Lighting Package (Bi-Xenon lights).

To retrofit the folding mirrors, you would need new door control modules, power folding mirror frames, and the switch block in the arm rest. Plus, you need to find someone at Mercedes willing to get the folding mirror code into Vedoc system. Once the code is in the MB data system, you go to the dealer to have SCN coding performed.

The ILS is different from the Adaptive High Beam Assist. Go to you tube and search W204 ILS It describes how that works.

I looked up the ILS, and it really isn't any different from the Lighting Package that my car has - which I absolutely love. Always weird going back to a car that doesn't have it.

Do you not have this feature?

Select the passenger's side mirror (the button on the door you use to adjust the mirrors) next time you back up. It should tilt the mirror down. I don't like that feature most of the time so I have the driver's side selected and only select the passenger side when I need it.

Add 4MATIC on the Sedan to that list of unavailables.
I've been on the fence about buying a Mercedes. Not in the sense that I don't like them because I've negotiated some damn good deals on 3 of them with the dealer for my Grandma in the past 12 years. (yeah she's that old lol) My Great Grandma lived till 102.

"09 C350 4MATIC 4DR
"15 C400 4DR
Fell in love with the '09 4MATIC (hence the reason I'm looking for a C350 Sedan MY2012-MY2014).
If they made the C350 Sedan again with 4MATIC I'd jump right off that fence and buy one. I saw there are some in Canada but I have no Idea how the importing would work on one of those.
The C350 Coupe 4MATIC is slowly starting to grow on me with the right price maybe I can be convinced to buy one. (Never been a fan of coupes, live in NJ winter sucks and don't want to get stuck in the snow)
Read the Coupe is 3,500 lbs on the specs but when looking at someone's VIN it says the GVRW is 4,500. Can anyone elaborate on that? Same for the Sedans weight?
My Current 4DR AWD Sedan is 4,400lbs and does 0-60 in 5.7. Google Saab Turbo X *(only 200 in the US)

I'm not sure what button would activate the residual heat function, but on cold days, you should be able to press one of the climate control buttons, and for about 30 mins, the car will recirculate warm air in the cabin so that the car stays warm while you're running short errands.
