Side view mirror question

Hi, all
Coming from the X204 forum with a question....
So I decided to replace both of my side view mirror with a convex blue tinted mirror that I bought from ebay.

Upon removing the driver side mirror, I discovered that there are three connectors... two on the top which I believe is for the heating element of the mirror and one white connector.

I would like to know what is the white connector for ? is it for auto dim?
The mirror I got from ebay does not have the white connector, only the two connector for heating element.

On the passenger side, there's no white connector, just heating element connectors. The driver side mirror seems to be a thicker mirror with two layers of glass when compared with the passenger side.

This is what I am talking about:

Thanks for the help!

The white is for auto dim. The passenger side mirror I not equipped for auto dim, so no white connector. The auto dim mirror is thicker because it has a layer of chemical which reacts to dim the mirror. Passenger side lacks the extra layer because it doesn't dim. Likewise I suspect your new mirror isn't auto dim and thus no connector. Auto dim mirrors are pretty expensive and most aftermarket mirrors aren't dimmable.

Thanks for your reply
That's what I figured as well....I just unpluged the auto-dim and tucked in the housing....the convex mirror I got is blue tinted and it's suppose to act like a dimmed mirror... as long as the heating element works, I'm happy
