Cherry Red Tailights (W204)
Wanted some input from anyone who has tinted their tailights in the past or recently. I've seen many different pictures , some darker than others. I own a black c350 sport with the AMG package & at the moment it's completely stock. Many mods coming soon I'm leaning towards the cherry red look as I'm not a fan of the murdered out all black look. Any advice on the tint % to achieve that look? Thanks in advance

"Any device that impairs the required effectiveness of headlamps, tail lamps, reflectors, etc is prohibited. The lights, both front and rear, are made by the manufacturer to meet this safety standard. An alternate or additional material, particularly something dark, would impair its effectiveness. Additional information on lighting can be found in the Texas Transportation Code, Chapter 547, Subchapters D & E."

So in other words if you tint you lights, good luck getting an inspection. However, if you buy lights that come with the housing that is "smoked" then your good to go. Though even then, I was questioned when trying to get my car inspected.
Here are what my taillights look like:

The only cherry red lights that I've seen (if I'm understanding what you're looking for) are on a member here's car. His username is EuroJDMBenzo. Here's one of his pics that kind of show the lights:

I did mine with one coat of vht niteshades and 2 coats of gloss because I was going for the cherry red look and it came out great. I dont have a full back pic of my car on my build page but if you look at the last page of my thread you can see a piece of them

Not on mine, but mine also isn't tint. The entire housing's plastic came "smoked", and the reverse light comes through as a brilliant white. It's actually the brightest light on the set lol.

I don't know if they did but I removed mine... Simple, 3 nuts if I remember correctly... Make sure you have a TINY ratchet though... This is all from memory... Haha, it's also Pre-Facelift!
