Sway Bar Options with Vehicle Dynamics Package (Advanced Agility Package)
So, I've been researching sway bar upgrade options for my 2014 C350.
First off, from the research I've been doing on EPC, it looks like the same sway bar (torsion bar) is used for any facelift sports package C350. Even across coupes and sedans. The part has a note stating it's for vehicle 483 / 486. 483 is the Vehicle Dynamics Package and 486 is the Sports Suspension. So, if you've got either one or both, you use that part according to EPC.
Now, I've been looking at the C63 sway bars. 1mm thicker, than the C350, in front and rear, while the Eibachs are 1mm on top of the C63's thickness. Unfortunately, Eibach specifically states that the sway bars are not compatible with Vehicle Dynamics Package cars.
After more research, it looks like there are suspension / leveling sensors, associated with the Vehicle Dynamics Package and the Lighting Package, that are installed near the sway bar. The OEM sway bar apparently has small divots to make sure it doesn't physically interfere with the sensor. I'm guessing the Eibach sway bars do not have this and would hit the sensors.
HERE'S my question: does anyone know if C63 sway bars can work on a car with the Vehicle Dynamics Package? I assume the C63 suspension system has similar sensors, but perhaps not mounted in the same position.
Here are the parts I'm thinking about buying:
C63 Front Sway Bar: A 204 326 14 65
C63 Rear Sway Bar: A 204 323 24 65
It's only about $330 plus shipping for the front and rear. If this is a viable option, I'll probably go for it.
Thanks,
Alex
