Front Left SRS malfunction!! Please Help
My car is a 2009 C300 with 96,000 miles.
This morning on my drive to work I got a Check windshield wiper fluid message on my car which went away on its own. But on my drive back from work I got this SRS message which doesnt go away.
I was sitting in my car earlier with the ignition switch on but the car off for about 10 minutes, and then I go to turn the car on and it wont. So i had someone jump my car and it finally turned on.
Is the battery dead and thats why its showing this error message or is the actual SRS system failing?
Please help the car is no longer under warranty and would rather replace the battery or something on my own than take it to the dealer.

This is a very common issue I have the exact problem on my merc and you need to buy new seat belt latches the SRS is tied into the seat belt mechanisms so it's confusing I kno, so if the SRS service required is displayed left or right they both wear out both seat belt buckles you'll get one or both left or right SRS malfunction,,,,on the center display usually the light comes and goes away while your driving,,,,

SRS malfunction light on after seat removal
How's it going guys I'm new to the forumn and I recently bought a 2009 c300 the driver seat had a minor rip on the seat so I took it in to be repaired and now the SRS malfunction light is on. I was wondering if there's any one in the Phx Arizona area that had a star diag tool to reset this for me ? Thanks alot everyone I appreciate it!

Hmm, did they disconnect it while repairing the seat?
On my VW if you disconnected the latch harness or even some buttons it would trigger the airbag light. Once that thing came on it needed to be cleared. It happened to me a couple times while working on my car. Luckily on Audis and VW it's much easier to do DIY coding.

I'd see if an indie shop could clear it fist. The dealer would probably have a higher fee, make you wait a week for an appointment and take 2-3 hours to do the job.
Even indie shops seem to have a high diagnostic hookup fee. Sometimes if you are friendly enough and the shop isn't busy they may do it for free to earn a customer.
On my VW it was as simple as just like clearing the engine codes.
