Dashboard Flicker While Starting Engine / Low start up temperature
The issue can be seen briefly at 43 seconds if you look at where the mileage is displayed upon startup. The lights flicker while the engine ignites.
Can anyone tell me if when they put in their key and turn the ignition they notice the dash lights and interior light flicker alongside of the starting engine? For the two seconds the engine turns on they flicker with the sound of it starting.
I have a 2009 which still has the blue display behind the wheel rather than color. I am not seeing it happen on 2012 face lift models with the color LCD behind the wheel.
My battery is OEM and brand new I am wondering if this could be a future problem with some electrical or starting component.
Thanks. I'll be searching for more youtube videos for people starting their c300's in the mean time.

Also, my engine during a cold start turns on at 40 and stays cold at 40 for a long time. Takes two minutes of idling before the RPM needle lowers to its normal idling spot between 0 and 1. As such I let the car idol for 2 minutes minimum before driving off after the RPM needle hits 1.
If I wait 5 minutes the temperature will rise to 60 and when I drive off is when it rises to its regular operating temperature of 80. How does this compare to your cold start temperature, and time for the RPM needle to drop?
After the first start of the day if the engine is warm I experience an immediate RPM needle drop to the regular zone and the temperature starts relatively normal.
Sorry about the double post, I searched the forum extensively and did not find links to these specific scenarios. Google did not yield results either.

For the temperature gauge, that seems normal to me too, however I can't say I look at it religiously. To be sure though, normal operating temperature is closer to 90. I did have to replace my thermostat once already, as it wouldn't go over 80. It was mostly an issue in winter as the car never really blew warm air until it got replaced.
The engine will warm to operating temperature quicker by driving it normally therefore less wear.
Heavy acceleration or high revs should be avoided until at operating temperature .
If the dash flicker only occurs when the engine is cranking then the starter motor may be at fault.eg drawing a higher or spiked load than normal. The brushes ( if it has them ) may be worn or armature fault. Best to visit an auto electrician .
