Fluid extractor tube size
I have a 2013 C300 and need to do my first oil change. I have an extraction pump but need to know what diameter tube I need and how far should the tube be inserted to make sure it is to the bottom of the oil pan?
Thanks

Cant say about the diameter since my extractor really only have 2 sizes, large and small, however the rule of thumb is you want as large of a diameter hose you can that still fits (or you'll wait for a very long time trying to suck through a straw). If the largest hose dont fit, then try 1 size smaller and keep trying till you find one that fits. As far as how far down...that depends. The best way is to take out your dipstick, measure it with the hose and mark the hose. That mark is the MINIMUM insertion point, while max will be as far as you can jam it in there. It's not rocket science, you'll get it as soon you start.
From personal experience, I know you wont get all the oil out with the hose at one position. I bet you'll put the hose in, suck oil out, be curious and move the hose and suck more oil. For me to make sure I got everything I went from the max insertion point and moved the hose out by 1 inch and kept repeating until I saw my minimum insertion mark (measured against the dip stick).
