Removal of Instrument Cluster Glass Cover

Hi all,

So something really weird/annoying happened to me. Somehow, a spider is inside my speedometer. How the hell did it get in there? lol. Anyone know how i can remove the plastic piece to get it out?

Any help would be greatly appreciate it.

I have a 2008 Mercedes Benz C300.

You'll need to remove the instrument cluster first, then take the glass off.
I drove a loaner w204 a couple of years ago, with a huge mosquito in the speedo

After I was able to go out and get a thinner screwdriver, I was able to do this in 30 mins. Please ensure that the little black thing that adjusts the brightness doesn't fall into the little gap when removing.

There are 5 clips that need to be unlocked...3 on the top and 2 at the bottom. Please let me know if anyone else has further questions.

Hi, also had a bug in my c200 kompressor then i took it out and when i plugged it back in and switched the ignition on the rev counter jumped back down. It still moves when in use but it is about 30000 rev/min behind.
Is there anything i shoud do or do i need to go to merc?
