Checking Battery Condition
In reading through old threads it seemed like there were many expressing concern about the condition of their battery and how much longer it might last. Lots of predictions and personal anecdotes but I only found ONE that made reference to using the Solar BA7 to verify battery condition. If you are even slightly concerned about the consequences of a dead battery, this is must have.

I just wondered why he only tested one cell with the hydrometer as one of the 5 other cells may have been damaged but thinking about it the total voltage was 13 therefore OK.
I will buy one because it will save throwing out a good battery just because it is old. My 204 Varta battery is now over 8 years old.

I think he only tested one cell for expediency's sake in making the video. I bought it for exactly the reason you stated. You just can't guess on a battery's condition based on its age, and on the other hand you don't want to get caught short when a battery decides to pack it in after 30 months. I had an Optima Red Top in one of my other cars that lasted 11 years. This is simple to use, compact and inexpensive. Brilliant IMO.
